ATLANTA - A divorce lawyer who raised no campaign cash and did virtually no campaigning for office has forced Georgia Supreme Court Justice David Nahmias into a Nov. 30 runoff in his bid for a full six-year term.

The unofficial returns show Nahmias with 48 percent of the vote with 100 percent of the precincts reporting in the three-way race. Georgia law requires candidates to win 50 percent plus one vote to be elected.

Nahmias staved off Atlanta attorney Matt Wilson, an aggressive campaigner who loaned himself more than $160,000 to mount the challenge. But Lawrenceville lawyer Tammy Lee Adkins landed a spot in the runoff by capturing 35 percent of the ballots - more than 725,000 votes.

Nahmias said Wednesday it's another opportunity for him to introduce himself to Georgia voters.
