ATHENS - A prosecutor has dismissed assault charges against a driver accused of using his car to nudge a Barrow County man and his 3-year-old son from a parking space.

A police report says 32-year-old Richard Junkins of Athens was trying to park in a downtown space about noon on Sept. 18, the day of the Arkansas-Georgia football game.

The report says 36-year-old Ross Campbell of Statham and his son were standing in the way, and Junkins inched into the space.
A witness told police the car struck the man and that the child had fallen onto the hood of the car. Junkins was charged with aggravated assault.

Assistant Athens-Clarke County District Attorney Reed Newland said there were no injuries and Campbell did not want to press charges.
