ATLANTA - The Georgia Christian Coalition won't issue a voter guide in this year's election saying both major-party candidates in the race for governor oppose issues important to the group.

President Jerry Luquire said it's the first time in 15 years the organization hasn't prepared a voter guide grading the candidates. It's typically distributed to 3,000 churches the Sunday before the election.

Luquire said both Democrat Roy Barnes and Republican Nathan Deal oppose ballot measures that would outlaw Sunday alcohol sales. Luquire also noted casino gambling as a problem although both Barnes and Deal have said they oppose it in Georgia. Deal first said he was open to the idea.

Deal won the GOP primary with heavy support from Christian voters.
