First-time jobless claims decline

ATLANTA - Initial unemployments claims in Georgia in September were down 18.7 percent compared to August.

Every metropolitan area in the state, except Dalton, recorded a decrease in claims... led by Rome with a 44.2 precent decline.

First-time unemployment claims in Gainesville decreased by 20.4 percent during the period, by 26.3 percent in Athens and 21.7 percent in metro Atlanta.
