Cumming murder suspect forced entry into home

CUMMING - Contrary to what was officials said Wednesday, it appears there was a forced entry into Maria Hernandez-Reyes' Cumming home on the day she was murdered.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Frank Huggins said initially authorities were unsure how the suspect, 25-year-old Jorge Montiel, gained entrance into the home.

"After further investigation, we did establish that a burglary did occur, and that's how he made entry into the house," said Huggins.

Montiel has been charged been charged with Aggravated Sodomy, Burglary and Murder in the strangulation death and sexual assault of Hernandez-Reyes on Oct. 13. He remains at large.
