The Mocs (4-2, 3-1 Southern Conference) began the second half with a drive lasting 9:02 and led 21-20 after Coleman's 11-yard run.
Three plays later, Chris Lewis-Harris recovered Lee Banks' fumble at the 25 of the Eagles (3-3, 1-2). J.J. Jackson's 3-yard run made it 28-20.
Coleman, who threw a 46-yard TD pass to Chris Awuah in the first quarter, made it 35-20 with a 43-yard TD to Brian Sutherland in the fourth. The 94-yard drive began with runs of 21 and 13 yards by Keon Williams.
Georgia Southern cut it to 35-27 with 1:38 left on Jaybo Shaw's 1-yard run, but its onside kick try failed to go 10 yards, giving the Mocs the ball.
Shaw, who started the late drive with a 63-yard pass to J.J. Wilcox, also threw a 58-yard first-quarter TD pass to Wilcox.
