GAINESVILLE - Event as the economy continues to struggle, Trivest Real Estate plans to begin site work next month for Beechwood Crossing Shopping Center in west Gainesville.

The complex will be built at the intersection of Dawsonville Highway and Beechwood Boulevard just west of McEver Road.

It will include up to four pad sites for retail uses. Two restaurants new to the Gainesville market are already under contract with detailed announcements expected in the next 60-90 days. Additional retail and restaurant sites are available in the center.

"We are encouraged by the retail development in the Dawsonville Highway area of Gainesville, said Greater Hall Chamber Retail Initiative Chairman Dick Valentine. "These new restaurants and stores provide new jobs and will likely draw sales from East Forsyth consumers as well as keeping sales tax dollars in Hall County for education and infrastructure projects."

Just recently two new shops opened in the nearby shopping center anchored by Kohl's - Michael's, an arts and crafts chain store and Ulta, a cosmetics and fragrance store.

Mayor Ruth Bruner said "The City of Gainesville, Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Department of Transportation and other partners have coordinated efforts to facilitate these new retail developments to support the community' s growing population and demand for retail services."

Trivest Real Estate is a commercial real estate firm specializing in retail sites and development, investment sales, and land sales. The principals in Trivest were involved in the development of the Mall of Georgia and dozens of other retail projects across the Southeast.

Gainesville resident Tim Knight, co-owner of Trivest, said "Gainesville-Hall County is a real bright spot in retail, as the retail market is stagnant in Georgia and across much of the nation. The recent activity in this market is rare and speaks to the opportunity, growth and the resilience of the local economy. This community is at an advantage because of the way its leadership works together toward a common goal of retaining sales tax dollars in the community."
