Boys basketball: Lions shoot past Athens Christian

GAINESVILLE -- Lakeview Academy held Athens Christian to just one field goal over the final 9:34 and pulled away in the fourth quarter en rout to a key 59-36 Region 8-A win at the Lakeview gym Friday night.

The Lions (10-8, 9-2 in region) used their depth to wear down the Eagles (12-7, 8-3) in the fourth quarter holding them to just six points, four coming on free throws. Lakeview had nine different players score in the game while Athens Christian played just seven players.
