Power companies bracing for winter storm

JEFFERSON - Along with road crews and others, power companies are also preparing for the possibility of a major winter storm in north Georgia Friday night and Saturday.

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC), for instance, which serves ABOUT 205,000 customers in a 10-county northeast Georgia area, has activated its Emergency Restoration Plan in case of power outages.
