ATLANTA - Gainesville-based New Leaf Landscape Services has received five 2009 Professional Landscape Awards from the Metropolitan Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association, including a Grand Award and the Judge's Award (given to only three entries this year) for the maintenance of the company's landscape installation at the mountain home of Norm and Angie Moye in Dahlonega.

Additionally, the company was recognized for the following:

Lakewood Baptist Church - landscape maintenance - Award of Distinction

Jim Syfan Residence - landscape maintenance - Award of Distinction

Dan Winston Residence - landscape installation - Award of Merit

"It is quite an honor to receive a Grand Award and a Judge's Award, plus receiving recognition for our other projects speaks well of our staff," said Steve Murray, president and founder of New Leaf Landscape Services, Inc. "Being judged by our peers and winning recognition each year that we have entered the MALTA awards reinforces the quality and professionalism that New Leaf has built its reputation on."

The 2009 awards included 63 entries in 12 categories, encompassing installation, maintenance, seasonal color, green innovations, and community service. MALTA members submitted photographs and project descriptions which were judged by a panel of industry experts without knowledge of company names. Entries do not compete against each other; they are evaluated using criteria specific to the category to determine the award earned.

The awards were presented at a banquet sponsored by John Deere Landscapes, Buck Jones Nursery, and Atlanta Home Improvement Magazine.
