GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commission Vice Chairman Ashley Bell Monday said 'welcome aboard' to Forsyth County, whose commissioners have formally approved sending a letter to the Hall Commission requesting to partner with Hall County on the Glade Farm Reservoir.

Bell said other area cities and counties are also interested.

"I'm definitely meeting with some leaders in the City of Atlanta and also DeKalb County and we'll see what comes of it," Bell said. "We definitely want to make sure that as we look at how we're going to pay for this giant project that we have as many partners and investors as possible; we're definitely glad Forsyth has joined us."

Forsyth commissioners had tentatively approved making the request a couple of weeks ago. The impoundment is still in the planning stages and would be used as source of water in addition to Lake Lanier, the primary source of water for both counties.
Bell said other area cities and counties are also interested.
