Prep basketball: Area girls squads permeate rankings

While few area boys basketball teams made it in, a number of area girls hoops squads highlight the latest PrepCountry.com basketball coaches polls released Tuesday.

North Hall, Franklin County and Mill Creek were the only boys teams in the latest top 10, while seven girls teams are listed.

Undefeated Buford is ranked second in Class AA. The defending state champion Lady Wolves are 10-0, 3-0 in Region 6-AA. Meanwhile, the Rabun County girls are fourth in Class AA.

In Class AAA, Pickens leads the way, coming in at fourth, while Region 7-AAA competitors Chestatee and Flowery Branch are also ranked at ninth and 10th, respectively. Franklin County's girls are also eighth.

Mill Creek's girls are also ninth in Class AAAAA. The school's boys team is 10th.

North Hall's boys are currently ranked ninth, while Franklin County is 10th in Class AAA.
