KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Former Tennessee wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson has pleaded guilty to one count of attempted robbery.

Richardson was charged Nov. 12 with then-teammates Mike Edwards and Janzen Jackson after three men reported to police that two men tried to rob them while they were sitting in their car at a Knoxville convenience store.

The victims later identified Richardson and Edwards as the two men who attempted robbery. One of the robbers brandished a pellet gun.

Court officials say Richardson entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors. He has agreed to diversion, which will keep him from serving jail time, and will be on probation for three years.

Charges are still pending against Edwards, who was dismissed from the team.
