Girls basketball: North Hall wins third straight

DAHLONEGA - North Hall pushed its win streak to three with a 67-33 blow out of Lumpkin County Saturday night in Region 7A-AAA action.

The Lady Trojans (10-2, 2-0 in subregion) had a huge first half with a season-high 49 points by halftime. North Hall cruised to the win in the second half.

Mary Kate Rushton led North Hall with a game-high 22 points. Shakayla Rucker had 11 points and McKenna Rushton added 10 for the Lady Trojans.

Kelsie Smith and Emma Thomaswick each scored six points to lead Lumpkin County (0-8, 0-3).

North Hall takes a week off before playing host to Gilmer, which has won three straight after a slow start.

Lumpkin County travels to Pickens on Tuesday.
