ATLANTA - Gov. Sonny Perdue says 10 more counties - including Gwinnett and Stephens - were added to the federal disaster declaration for residents in the wake of destructive flooding.

Individual assistance for recovery efforts will be given to residents of Catoosa, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton Carroll, Chattooga, Stephens, Walker and Rockdale counties.

That brings the number of counties eligible for federal aid to 14. Cobb, Paulding, Douglas and Cherokee counties qualified earlier. Aid can include grants to help pay for temporary housing, home repairs and other serious disaster-related expenses.
