North Hall shocks No. 7 Creekview in night of big wins

OAKWOOD - North Hall proved it is still a force in Region 7-AAA Friday night pulling off a shocking 45-21 win over No. 7 Creekview on the road.

The Trojans never trailed turning three first half Creekview turnovers into 21 points to open a quick lead en route to the 7A-AAA victory.

Meanwhile, No. 1 Gainesville got going quickly against West Hall in 7B-AAA play rolling out to a 42-0 lead before finishing with a 56-13 win.

In other 7A-AAA action, Chestatee exploded for 27 second half points in a 33-0 7A-AAA win over Pickens. Gilmer rallied for 12 second half points to knock off Lumpkin County 12-10.

In 7B-AAA, No. 8 Flowery Branch used a big first half to take control against Johnson and then held off the Knights in the second half for a 52-24 win. West Forsyth recovered from a sluggish first quarter to beat East Hall 41-6.

In Region 8-AA, East Jackson jumped out to a 21-0 lead over Riverside Military Academy before rolling to a 42-20 win to remain unbeaten. No. 7 Jefferson demolished Union County 63-21; Dawson County won its first game of the year with a 6-0 victory over Rabun County. Fannin County beat Oglethorpe County 31-28 and North Oconee whipped Banks County 47-0.

In Region 8-A, No. 1-ranked Wesleyan led Lakeview Academy 28-0 at halftime and then cruised to a 45-0 victory. Commerce led No. 2 Lincoln County 12-7 in the third quarter before falling 20-12 at home.
