Volleyball: West Hall wins sixth straight over North Hall, Lady Vikings

MURRAYVILLE - The West Hall volleyball team pushed its win streak to six straight after knocking off North Hall and East Hall in Area 7-AAA action Tuesday at the Norh Hall gym.

The Lady Spartans needed three games to get past host North Hall 25-23, 17-25, 25-13 and then swept East Hall 25-15, 25-17 in two games. In the third game, North Hall nipped East Hall 25-17, 25-23 to pick up one win.

"We have grown as the season has progressed and we are looking forward to the upcoming region tournaments next month," West Hall coach Joe Nelson said. "We played very well tonight as a team."

Kristen Holmes paced West Hall with 17 kills. Tonya Bennett added seven kills, and Erica Grainger had 30 assists, four aces and a six-point service run for the Lady Spartans.

Defensively Nicolette Ashley led West Hall with digs.

For East Hall, Maricela Castillo had eight points scored on serve with two aces, three kills, six digs and one block. Chelsea Nyamapaguma had six points scored on serve to go along with three digs, Stormy Hornsby had six points scored on serve with one ace, five kills and six digs for the Lady Vikings.

Ashleigh Baugh had two points scored on serve with two kills and eight digs, Courtney Bivens added four kills and four digs, and Hannah Hix had 10 assists for East Hall.
