WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Hanesbrands Inc. will sell three of its four yarn-making plants - including one in northeast Georgia - as it leaves that business.

The company says it will close the fourth plant in Sanford, North Carolina, cutting 150 jobs. It also will close small warehouses in Advance and Clemmons, North Carolina, affecting 25 jobs.

The company is selling three plants to Parkdale Mills of Gastonia. About 780 people work in those plants in Galax, Va.; Mountain City, Tenn.; and Rabun Gap, Ga.

Parkdale President and CEO Anderson Warlick says he does not xpect any job cuts at the three plants. The deal should close in the fourth quarter.
