WASHINGTON, D.C. - "Inappropriate " and "a waste of time" is the way 9th District Rep. Nathan Deal describes the admonishment the House gave South Carolina's Joe Wilson Tuesday.

The House action came one week after Wilson's outburst during the president's speech to Congress.

Deal noted that Wilson has apologized to the president and his apology has been accepted.

"I felt like this was just another effort to play politics at a time when there are so many issues that ought to be debated on the floor of the House," the Gainesville Republican said Wednesday on the Martha Zoller Show on WDUN NEWS TALK 550. "I felt like it was actually a waste of time and I think it will further infuriate the American public."

Deal and the other six Republican members of the Georgia congressional delegation all voted against the resolution . All seven Democrats in the delegation voted for it.

"I felt like this was just another effort to play politics at a time when there are so many issues that ought to be debated on the floor of the House," Deal said.
