OAKWOOD - The Flowery Branch girls volleyball team remained unbeaten in Area 7-AAA play after taking a pair of area matches over West Hall and defending Area 7-AAA champion Creekview at the West Hall gym.

In the opening match, the Lady Falcons (9-7, 5-0 in area) needed just two games to beat West Hall 25-12, 25-21 behind the play of juniors Alexis Love and Kathryn McMillin and sophomores McKenzie Grewett and Kirsten Nappi.

Flowery Branch then outlasted Creekview in a marathon three-game match 25-20, 15-25, 27-25, led by senior outside hitter Samantha Salyers and libero Danielle Miller. Sophomore Becca Nash added a run of six straight service points in the third game to spark a comeback win.

Flowery Branch next travels to St Pius X on Thursday to play against the Golden Lions and Oconee County.
