2 injured in Lanier boating accidents

UNDATED - Two people were injured in boating accidents on Lake Lanier over the holiday weekend.

The state Department of Natural Resources says there were three accidents on the lake - a third of the statewide total - but only one citation was issued for boating under the influence (BUI).

The only drowning reported in the state was at Lake Jackson, which is southeast of Atlanta.

Statewide, there were a total of nine boating accidents, nine injuries and seven BUI arrests..
