Raiders run over Johnson

COAL MOUNTAIN - North Forsyth ground out 383 yards rushing behind quarterback Joey Vicary to run past Johnson 28-0 Friday night.

It was the second straight win for the Class AAAAA Raiders (2-0) over a Region 7-AAA team.

Vicary finished with 181 yards rushing on 10 carries, including scoring on the Raiders' first play of the game on an 83-yard run.

Steven Hester finished with 109 yards and one touchdown and Tyler Slaton had 80 yards and a touchdown for North Forsyth. Vicary also threw for one score on a 37-yard pass to Nick Saponara.

Johnson (0-2) was led by 93 yards rushing from Mantevious Rucker. the raiders, however, did a good job of clamping down on Johnson quarterback Anthony Prophet, who managed just 10 yards rushing on nine carries, and was 8-of-15 passing for just 79 yards.
