Meanwhile, teams like Johnson, Lakeview Academy, West Hall, Dawson County, and Commerce face tough games while still looking for their first wins.
Here is a look at some key games aroud northeast Georgia Friday night:
FLOWERY BRANCH at LUMPKIN COUNTY
WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Friday
WHERE: Dahlonega, J.P. King Memorial Stadium
FLOWERY BRANCH (1-0 overall, 0-0 Region 7B-AAA): beat Stephens County 38-8 last week.
LUMPKIN (1-0 overall, 0-0 Region 7A-AAA): beat Dawson County 13-0 last week.
LAST MEETING: 2008, Flowery Branch won 42-10 at home. Flowery Branch leads the series 3-0, with all three meetings coming in the past three years.
NOTABLE: The Falcons are working on a seven-game road winning streak. It its brief history it has been a lopsided series...The Falcons have averaged 38 points a game against the Indians and have allowed just 20 total points...Flowery Branch played a near-flawless game against Stephens County last week. The Falcons led 38-0 before allowing a late fourth quarter TD...The Indians played well on defense recording just their second shutout since 2002. The Lumpkin offense finally got going in the second half scoring two of the four times it had the ball after a scoreless first half.
EAST HALL at WHITE COUNTY
WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Friday
WHERE: Cleveland, White County Stadium
EAST HALL (0-1 overall, 0-0 Region 7B-AAA): off last week,; lost 10-0 to Murray County two weeks ago
WHITE (1-0 overall, 0-0 Region 7A-AAA): beat Franklin County 10-6 last week
LAST MEETING: 2008, White County won 34-8. East Hall leads the series 23-16 but White County has four of the last six meetings. Last East Hall win was 14-10 in 2006.
NOTABLE: East Hall is trying to snap a seven-game losing streak going back to last season. Offense has been the trouble with the Vikings scoring 10 points or less in seven of their last 10 games. That doesn't bode well as the White County defense has yielded just 155 points (14.1 ppg) over its last 11 games.
Despite the low output last week, the Warriors offense is considered to be one of the most explosive in Region 7-AAA behind Ashely Lowery and Cam Segraves.
East Hall coach Bryan Gray said it was back to the basics during their week off.
