Barrow County Sheriff's Investigator Matt Guthas said a witness saw the explosion from the woods near her home off Thomas Drive this weekend and called 911.
"They sent an investigator out and he found the shack to be leveled from the explosion and there was severe fire damage," said Guthas.
He said no suspects and no evidence of any injuries were found near the leveled structure, but he said investigators did find evidence linking criminal activity to the area.
"The investigator found components common in the manufacture of methamphetamine inside," Guthas said. "There's no way for us to find out how much methamphetamine was being made."
Guthas said the ingredients to make meth are highly flammable and dangerous.
