By 2:00 Friday afternoon, more than an inch of rain (1.32inches) had fallen at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville... most of it since daybreak. That's the most in Gainesville for any one day since July 12 when .82 of an inch fell.
It's not known if they were weather-related but around 11:00 the entrance to I-985 off I-85 in Suwanee was blocked because of an apparent jack-knifed tractor-trailer and a tree was blocking all of Shirely Road in North Hall between The Country Subdivisiion and Mt. Vernon Road.
