LAWRENCEVILLE - Four people were shot to death and a 4-year-old was wounded at a home in Gwinnett County, and a man being sought in the shootings was arrested when he showed up at the scene afterwards, Gwinnett County Police said.

Police were called to the home near Lawrenceville in Atlanta's northeast suburbs Thursday night, said Gwinnett Police spokeswoman Illana Spellman.

Police were still investigating the motive and circumstances Friday, Spellman said.

Police identified the dead as 28-year-old Atania Butler, 30-year-old Lakeisha Parker, 19-year-old Rico Zimmerman and an 11-year-old girl whose name was not immediately released. Butler was the mother of the 11-year-old and the 4-year-old.

Butler, Zimmerman and the 11-year-old died at the home. Parker died shortly after arriving at Gwinnett Medical Center.

The 4-year-old girl's name was not released, but Spellman said the girl was still alive Friday afternoon at Atlanta's Scottish Rite hospital.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Richard Ringold, 44, who lived at the home, on charges of murder and aggravated assault, Spellman said. They had put out an alert for Ringold and said he was armed and dangerous.

Ringold arrived at the home early Friday and was arrested. ``He asked what we were doing and why we were looking for him,'' Spellman said. She said police believed that Ringold was the boyfriend of one of the residents of the home.

Spellman said Ringold was being held without bond at the Gwinnett County jail.
