Victim identified in Dahlonega crash

DAHLONEGA - A Cumming man, who had recently moved to the area from Knoxville, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim of a Sunday night accident in Lumpkin County.

Ronald Fortner, an investigator with the Lumpkin County coroner's office, said Michael Wayne Tibbs, 40, lost control of his vehicle on Highway 52 East just past Ferrell Gas Company and plummeted down an embankment.

State troopers confirmed the wreck happened about 9:45 p.m. Sunday. They said Tibbs was traveling alone at the time of the accident.
