TAMPA, Fla. - Georgia gas prices increased three cents a gallon on average over the past week.

Triple-A South reports that the average price in the state is now $2.39 for a gallon of regular unleaded. Nationally, the price is 20 cents more.

The cheapest in the Gainesville area? $2.29 in Cornelia, $2.33 in Gainesville, $2.35 in Dahlonega and Cumming; and $2.37 in Dawsonville, according to gasbuddy.com.

A spokeswoman for Triple-A South says that since the summer travel season is coming to an end, we can expect to see prices begin to drop again.
