Head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh says Rogers tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Friday and will undergo reconstruction surgery in the coming weeks.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound senior from Nashville had his best season as a sophomore, starting all 14 games in 2007 and finishing second on the team with 624 yards on 56 catches and four touchdowns. In 2008 among a crowded corps of receivers, he caught 14 passes for 180 yards.
Rogers' brother, Zach Rogers, is set to join the Volunteers this year as a freshman wide receiver.
