Eugene Brown Post #521 was given the "Devotion To Mutual Helpfulness" Award, for excellence in serving community, youth, and veterans
Post Commander Johnny Varner says the award "fulfills...one of the American Legion Preambles supporting the age old motto 'For God and Country.'"
Post 521 was one of four American Legion Post in Georgia - out of more than 250 - to receive the award.
The post recently merged with an American Legion in Buford.
