ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Investigators in Ormond Beach believe a Dawson County killer - Gary Michael Hilton - might be connected to a killing in central Florida.

Police said this week that they're hoping DNA evidence collected from the body of 27-year-old Michael Scot Louis connects the crime to Hilton.

Authorities found Louis' decapitated body in Tomoka State Park in December 2007. Authorities believe the grisly death is similar to the two other cases.

Hilton already is serving a life sentence in Georgia for killing hiker Meredith Emerson of Buford, who was kidnapped from a Union County hiking trail and whose body was found days later in Dawson County. Hilton also is charged in the death of Cheryl Hodges Dunlap, whose body was found in the Apalachicola National Forest, near near Tallahassee, in December 2007.
