The awards were presented Thursday at the monthly meeting of the chamber's board of directors.
The Jaeger Company is a Gainesville design and planning firm that is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The company, which employs twelve people, now has an office in Athens as well as Gainesville.
Simpson Trucking was opened in 1985 by James Simpson with two trucks five employees and two pieces of equuipment. His two sons, a daughter and grandchildren are now involved in the business, now listed among the top 100 employers in Hall County.
The chamber recognized Sherry Ridgway of Capital Data Services as Ambassador of the Year and the W.G. Mealor Award went to David Lee of Jackson EMC.
Silver Shovel Awards were presented to Mike Allen of Georgia Trust Bank, Benny Bagwell of Jackson EMC, Bev Ann Bonds of Business Support Solutions, Gail Detraz of Northeast Georgia Surgical Associates, Scott Dixon of Scott's on the Square, Sean Johnsen of iCard Now, Joe Nation of Gainesville Sign and Graphics, Jody Nelson of Georgia Power, Candy Robinson of Riverside Military Academy, Phil Sutton of Hall County Government, Carroll Turner of Lanier Tech, Erin Williamson of The Longstreet Clinic, and Cindy Wilson of SunTrust Bank.
Gold Shovel Awards were presented to LeTrell Simpson of CON-SEN-US and Frank Norton, Jr., of The Norton Agency... co-chairs of the chamber's 100th anniversary celebration.
