Thieves hit west Gainesville drug store

GAINESVILLE - Someone smashed through the front door of a west Gainesville drug story early Thursday but had left the scene by the time police - responding to a burglary alarm - got there.

The break-in occurred about 4:15 at the Rite Aid at McEver and Browns Bridge Road, according to Lt. Keith Lingerfelt.

There was still no indication from police by early Thursday afternoon what, if anything, was taken.
