Road work today on Winder Hwy.

GAINESVILLE - Georgia DOT says one lane of Winder Highway (Georgia 53) near Chestnut Mountain will be closed for a time today.

Spokeswoman Teri Pope says one eastbound lane (the inside lane) will be closed from 9:00 this morning until 3:00 this afternoon "for corrective work...beginning at Strickland Road, east for about a mile."

Winder Highway was recently widened to four lanes in that area.
