FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch High Principal Mark Coleman announced that the Falcons' JV Academic Team, which competed in the Georgia Academic Team Association's tournament on April 18 at Ola High School in McDonough, Georgia, has won the AAA state championship for the second consecutive year. Questions cover a wide range of subjects including fine arts.
Team members are John Washington, Jacob Spratling, Jake Jacob (captain), Christian Warner, Jordan Luster, Kyle Williams, Kevin Williams, Meghan Magee, Haniel Roman and Eli Roman.
The school's varsity and junior varsity teams have brought home seven trophies this year; four of those are for championships. The Falcon teams are coached by Joan Grindle and Terri Barker.
