In a report, sheriff's deputies say Jones died of gunshot wounds to the chest and left knee at the family's home early Sunday. His wife, Vickie, called 911.
Chief Deputy David Cochran says the son is charged with involuntary manslaughter and battery. He was released Monday from the Jackson County Jail on $15,000 bond. It was not immediately known if the son had a lawyer.
Cochran says both father and son had weapons during a 2 a.m. argument.
District Attorney Brad Smith would not comment on the case.
