Baseball: West Hall takes win over Pickens in eight innings

OAKWOOD -- The West Hall baseball team defeated Pickens 4-3 in eight innings on Wednesday evening in Oakwood.

Jake Shirley was the winning pitcher for West Hall (7-9, 5-9 Region 7-AAA). Shirley pitched the eighth inning. Preston pitched the first seven innings for West Hall. Preston allowed three runs and struck out six.

West Hall's Luis Delgado had three hits, including the game-winner in the eighth inning. Caleb Stewart and Chad Goff each had two hits.

West Hall will play host to Lumpkin County at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
