Among the latest... three of the four at War Hill Park in Dawson County.
Dawson County Recreation Director Lisa Henson said, "The water level is up enough to reopen ramps allowing boaters to once again launch their boats safely and conveniently."
Henson said there are four boat ramps at the park and three have been closed "off and on" for the past several years because of the low levels of the lake brought on by the lingering drought. One ramp - the low water ramp - remained open.
In addition to the reopening of the boat ramps, War Hill Campground officially opened for the season on April 1.
"We are getting great feedback on the recent campsite and picnic area improvements and work is continuing on the pier renovations and beach area," said Henson. "If you haven't been out to the park recently, you've really got to see it. We've already had three requests for fishing tournaments out of War Hill Park and most recently a request for a September wedding using the entire park."
Henson said this bodes well for the economy of the area because when the ramps were closed, the fishermen stayed away and, therefore, didn't spend any money in the area.
Henson said, "It's really beautiful and I must commend the Dawson County Facilities staff and Public Works department for their great work on the park."
