ATLANTA - Key votes on tax overhauls may have to wait for another day.

The House has delayed a vote on an effort which failed earlier this legislative session to slow the growth of property assessments. Republican leaders are pushing for another vote on a constitutional amendment that would cap the rate that property assessments can grow at 3 percent.

The Senate is scheduled to consider another proposal Wednesday to replace the annual car tag tax with a one-time fee of up to $1,500 on newly purchased vehicles. That bill is the last on a long list of more than 50 proposals set for a debate.

The 40-day legislative session is set to end Friday.
