No. 2 Dogs pound Quinnipiac for 11th straight win

ATHENS -- Chase Davidson and Rich Poythress had three hits apiece and Justin Grimm went a career-long six innings as Georgia downed Quinnipiac, 19-6, Saturday at Foley Field.

The Bulldogs, ranked as high as No. 2 by Collegiate Baseball, scored double digit runs for the ninth time in 11 games and improved to 11-0.

Grimm (1-0) allowed just one unearned run on five hits and struck out four batters for his first career win.

Five Bulldogs had at least three RBI including Poythress with four and Joey Lewis, Davidson, Zach Cone and Michael Demperio with three each. Poythress also scored a career-high four runs.
