Jeff Kryzakos collected a pair of goals for Mississippi to give the Sea Wolves a 2-0 lead on the Gladiators after the first period. Kryzakos' first came at 6:52 of the first period on the power play as he found a loose puck in the slot and beat Gwinnett netminder Dan Turple for the goal. Ryan Cruthers and Mike Berry had the assists on the goal for Mississippi.
The Sea Wolves pushed their lead to 2-0 at 10:25 of the first period on Kryzakos' second goal of the night. Kryzakos again capitalized on a flurry in front of Turple before beating the the netminer for the goal for Mississippi. Martin Frechette and Kyle McAllister had the assists on the goal for the Sea Wolves.
Berry slipped down the left wing and past a Gladiators defenseman who lost his footing in the slot before beating Turple giving the Sea Wolves a 3-0 lead. McAllister added an assist on the goal for Mississippi at 7:04 of the second period.
Gwinnett didn't go away in the second period as the Gladiators scored a pair of goals just a minute and a half apart. Adam Berti got Gwinnett on the board at 10:16 of the second period beating Mississippi netminder Ryan Munce from the top of the left wing circle with a slap shot that eluded the netminder. Berti's marker came unassisted and shorthanded for the Gladiators.
Jean-Claude Sawyer cut the Mississippi lead to 3-2 at 11:48 of the second period. With a delayed penalty coming to the Sea Wolves, Sawyer pulled the puck off the right wing dasher boards before sliding into the slot and beating Munce to the short side. Dan Sullivan collected an assist on the goal for Gwinnett.
Mississippi extended its lead to 4-2 at 5:20 of the third period. Ryan Cruthers ripped a slap shot off the back dasher that skipped right into the slot where he picked up his own rebound and beat Turple for the goal. Mississippi got assists on the goal from Alexandre Parent and Mathieu Melanson.
Tom Zanoski got the Gladiators back within a goal at 10:31 of the third period. Zanoski ripped a slapshot from the right point past Munce on a 5-on-3 power play. Scott Marchesi and Berti collected the assits on the goal for Gwinnett as they set up Zanoski.
Mississippi put the game away at 12:37 of the third period on a goal by Parent. Melanson and Cruthers set up Parent to collect assists on the markers. Parent beat Turple from point blank range for the goal for Mississippi.
The Gladiators outshot Mississippi in the loss by a 46-24 margin as Turple finished with just 19 saves for Gwinnett. Both teams went 1-for-5 on the power play in the contest.
