Tennis: Johnson girls take 7-AAA win over Flowery Branch

OAKWOOD -- Johnson won both doubles matches to pull out a 3-2 win over Flowery Branch Tuesday in Region 7-AAA girls tennis action.

Laura Gazaway and Katie Clark won a thrilling three-set match over Nicki Price and Morgan Reed 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1 while the team of Claire Crane and Harlee Robson beat Lindsey Shaw and Paolette Matute 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Knights' Annabeth Peace rallied from a set down at No. 3 singles to beat Morgan Ruiz 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 for the third win.

Flowery Branch got wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles.

Jemica Romey beat Cady Nix 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 at No. 1 and Megan Grewett beat Kamy Fields 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Flowery Branch's Jemica Romey won a close match at No. 1 singles for Flowery Branch. The Lady Falcons, however, lost 3-2 to Johnson in the team match.
