Board chairman Millard Allen said the 5-0 vote on Friday to fire Bull followed an automatic detection of the access by the 12,500-student school system's information technology department. Allen says Bull told the board he had too much to drink and "did a very foolish thing" Wednesday while on an overnight trip to Savannah.
Bull told a reporter that events came on suddenly, and he needed to inform his wife.
Before taking the coastal Georgia job in 2005, Bull was assistant superintendent of instruction for two years for Gainesville city schools.
