GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Parks and Recreation announces that construction on Phase IV of the Rock Creek Greenway will begin Monday.

Phase IV of the project will connect Rock Creek Park which is located downtown at the corner of Academy Street and Northside Drive to the recently renovated Ivey Terrace Park. Funding from a $300,000 Transportation Enhancement Grant will help pay for the work.

The project will connect existing trails in the greenway and include landscaping and an amphitheatre with natural seating.

The project is expected to be completed by summer.

It's part of an ongoing project to link downtown with Lake Lanier via Rock Creek Greenway Park, Ivey Terrace, Wilshire Trails Park and Longwood Park.
