JEFFERSON - The public will get a chance next week to see plans for the replacement of a bridge that will affect traffic on a Jackson County road for more than a year.

However, don't expect to learn when the work will take place... because the state Department of Transportation is still prioritizing all of its projects in the wake of the state's budget shortfall.

The project in question is the replacement of the bridge on Galilee Church Road that spans the Middle Oconee River.

The design plans will be discussed at a public meeting next Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 5:00-7:00, at Galilee Church in Jefferson.
