ATLANTA - A Dawsonville grandmother has won a hearty prize. Shirlie Tavira won $50,000 playing Extreme Green, a new Georgia Lottery instant game.

She purchased the ticket at Harmony Church Chevron, 1322 Highway 400 N. in Dawsonville, and scratched it in the car.

"I almost fainted," the grandmother of 11 said. "I was shaking."

Tavira, 55, has five adult children and one great-grandchild, who currently is enrolled as a lottery-funded Pre-K pupil.

Her plans include sharing her prize with immediate family.

Extreme Green is a Georgia Lottery instant game loaded with $1 million top prizes.
