Wind chills in the single-digits are common across north Georgia this morning.
At 5:00 this morning, winds of up to 24 miles an hour had been clocked in Gainesville, 22 in Buford and 17 in Blairsville. Those winds had produced wind chills of -4 in Blairsville, zero in Gainesville, and 2 in Buford.
There is a wind advisory in effect for most of north Georgia and a wind chill advisory for some mountain areas... north of a line from Blue Ridge-to-Dahlonega-to-Cleveland.
It's not going to get much warmer - or at least it won't seem much warmer - through the day... with temperatures expected to remain in the 30s in most of north Georgia, with much lower wind chills as the brisk winds continue.
