Except for mountain counties, much of the snow had melted by 5:00 this morning. The roads, in most places, were never a problem. For the most part, the snow accumulated only on grassy areas and elevated surfaces such as decks.
Visibility was reported a problem at times in Dawson County and, in Rabun County, which about an inch of the white stuff fell, at least six wrecks were attributed to snow-covered roads, according to Fox 5.
Officials in Towns and Murray counties also reported a few road problems with Georgia Highway 52 in Murray described as "almost impassable" at one point with a number of vehicles off the road on Fort Mountain.
And, all across northeast Georgia where there was enough of an accumulation, after-dark snowfall fights broke out.
In many places, the snow has changed to rain this morning and the Winter Weather Advisory that was in effect for Habersham and Rabun counties has been canceled.
