Land purchase for new White Co. medical facility completed

CLEVELAND - Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville has completed the purchase of property north of Cleveland that will enable it to expand the primary care offered through the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, formerly know as Neighborhood Health Care.

Cathy Bowers, Public Relations Director for Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc. said the purchase of the land on the Helen highway at the former House of Tyrol location, just north of Asbestos Road is the first step in their process. Northeast Georgia Health had originally planned to locate offices just south of Cleveland, but were unable to obtain proper sewer service for the property and they wanted to have a location closer to Helen.

The exact timetable for the building and relocation is not know at this time but according to Bowers they will move quickly on this process, in fact she said they already have plans to expand the service professionals by adding a new doctor to the staff next year.
