The Dragons went undefeated during the regular season -- 10-0 -- for the second year running and claimed their second 8-AA crown in a row before falling to Class AA finalist Buford in the second round 30-22. Jefferson placed four players on the first team (Darius Minor Lucas Redd, Kyle Mosley and Zach Allen), three on the second team and eight honorable mentions.
Meanwhile, region runner-up East Jackson also had 15 total players recognized, while coach Frank Caputo was named Region 8-AA Coach of the Year. The Eagles went 10-2 this season and reached the second round of the postseason in the program's first-ever playoff appearance.
Riverside Military Academy, Union County and Fannin County also each placed multiple players on the first team.
